Shashi Tharoor apologies for not getting facts right on Modi’s Bangladesh speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi became a targeting point for the Congress party and other opposition parties with his speech in Bangladesh. Modi is on a two-day visit to Bangladesh.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor had also slammed Narendra Modi over his speech. The Congress leader found fault with Prime Minister’s view on the Bangladesh war.

A day after slamming PM Modi, Shashi Tharoor apologised for his mistake. Saying that he doesn’t mind admitting when he is wrong, the MP said he made a tweet on Modi’s comments based on a quick reading of headlines.

“I don’t mind admitting when I’m wrong. Yesterday, on the basis of a quick reading of headlines and tweets, I tweeted “everyone knows who liberated Bangladesh,” implying that Narendra Modi had omitted to acknowledge Indira Gandhi. It turns out he did. Sorry!”, the Congress leader said.

In the tweet he made yesterday, Shashi Tharoor claimed that Prine Minister Narendra Modi is giving the state of Indian fake news to Bangladesh as well. Congress leader tweeted based on Narendra Modi’s statements on the Bangladesh War as quoted by the media reports.

As per the media reports, Narendra Modi claimed that he did Satyagrah for the freedom of Bangladesh along with his friends when he was 20-22 years old. He even said, he was also arrested for this.
