Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her mother Sunanda Shetty have been booked by the Uttar Pradesh Police in an alleged case of fraud in Lucknow.
As per the reports, the actress and her mother committed fraud in the name of a wellness centre. Reportedly, two FIRs have been filed at Hazratgani and Vibhuti Khans police stations in Lucknow.
As per police officials, Shilpa runs a fitness chain named “Iosis Wellness Centre” whose chairman is the actress, while her mother is the director of the company. It has been alleged that the mother-daughter duo took crores of money from two people in the name of starting a branch of the wellness centre, but they did not keep the promise.
DCP Sanjeev Suman said in a statement that the investigation officer left for Mumbai on Monday and will examine all the details in the case. He further added that the case is high profile, and hence, the cops are strictly investigating it.
On the other side, Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai police a few days back in a case related to pornography. Bombay High Court has denied bail to the businessman, and he will stay in jail till further orders.
