If grapevine is to be believed, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is not playing the title role in the biopic of yesteryear actress Savitri. Sam is not doing the role of Savitri in her biopic film being made by Nag Ashwin. Sam is said to be doing the role of actress Jamuna who was professional rival to Savitri.
Talk is that Jamuna had almost equal stardom along with Savitri in those days but she said to had given up many films due to Savitri.
Buzz has it that both Savitri and Jamuna were initially friends but later differences had surfaced resulting in their enmity. They had worked in good films including films like Missamma. But after their spat, at one stage Jamuna had openly stated to producers, directors that she wouldn’t act in a film that features Savitri.
Now director Nag Ashwin is said to be making the film more interesting, engrossing and designed the script in such a way where Savitri, Jamuna will have competitive roles. And it’s evident with the recent first look as well.
