If you are wondering how much did the newly elected CM of Andhra spent on his oath taking ceremony, the cost for such a grand event may take you by surprise. The swearing-in ceremony of AP new Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, that happened on Thursday afternoon, costed a little less than Rs 50 lakh for state government.
The event that took place in Vijayawada saw CM of Telangana, KCR and DMK chief Stalin as chief guests. With a view to not spend huge money on this ceremony, Jagan is said to have opted for a stadium (Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada).
The cost incurred on arrangements of swearing in ceremony related to stage, invitation cards, food, furniture and other items is Rs 48.5 lakhs. The state government has issued Rs 29.10 lakhs in advance for the same, according to Srikant Nagulapalli, Secretary to Government (Political), General Administration Department. The advance amount was released to take care of Governor’s two-way travel, accommodation, dining facilities for chief guests and AC bills.
