BJP leader Smriti Irani got a never before reception in Lok Sabha today. The Monsoon sessions of the 17th Parliament have begun with the newly elected MPs taking oath. When it was the turn of Smriti Irani, all the BJP MPs clapped for her and continued to do so even when she was swearing-in.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi too clapped for her and that says all. Smriti defeated the Congress president Rahul Gandhi from Amethi by a huge majority. This has shocked the whole country and thankfully Rahul who also contested from Wayanad, won and earned a seat in Lok Sabha.
Having got elected for the fourth consecutive time, Rahul took to his Twitter and thanked people of Wayanad for voting for him and added that he is beginning a new innings representing the constituency.
