The sudden sprouting of several Whatsapp groups and social media posts claiming Eatala Rajender as the BJP’s future chief minister has now become a hot topic of discussion in the political circles. While no one knows who is forming these Whatsapp groups and uploading the posts, they are doing rounds and are trying to create a buzz in favour of Eatala Rajender.
The conversations in these groups claim that the BJP national leadership has already given Eatala a go ahead to project himself as the CM candidate. The groups also claim that he has the experience needed to become a chief minister. However, BJP sources say that no official statement to this effect was released by the national leadership so far. They also point out that the BJP’s culture of deciding the CM candidate is different from the other parties.
Sources who know Eatala say that he is not involved in these efforts. Yet others say that Eatala has used social media quite effectively during the Huzurabad bypolls and has personally claimed that the social media has played a great role in his victory.
Meanwhile, the social media posts and the Whatsapp groups have become talking points in the BJP circles. Many feel that this is a measure aimed at undercutting Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay, who, the dissidents in the BJP feel, is growing too big for his groups. Eatala is totally silent on the sprouting of the social media posts.
