Lok Satta supremo Jayaprakash Narayan termed the claims of Centre that Special Package is better than Special Status as non-sense. ‘It’s not true that Special Status doesn’t guarantee Tax Concessions. Only States with Special Status received Tax Concessions, ‘ he makes it clear.
JP questioned, ‘Does fighting for Special Status make anyone anti-national? BJP Leader promised Special Status and TDP Leaders kept saying Status is their priority until 6 months ago. Now, They alone send an indication that even demanding Special Status is a sin. State Government is yet to mount pressure on Centre for Tax incentives. Special Status isn’t somebody personal or private issue. Special Package is nothing but non-sense. Government should release a white-paper explaining why Special Status can’t be accorded’.
Reacting on the way State Government prev ented Opposition Leader from holding candlelight rally at RK Beach, Jayaprakash Narayan slammed AP Government for resorting to undemocratic practices.
