The candidates supported by YSR Congress Party have won most of the seats in the first phase of the Panchayat Elections in Andhra Pradesh. More than 81 per cent of candidates backed by the ruling party have grabbed the seats in the first phase of elections.
While the parties in AP are getting ready for the second phase, Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav given a jolt to his own party by supporting the opposition party candidate.
According to reports, MP Gorantla Madhav is from Rudravaram village in Kurnool district where the TDP support candidate MK Madhu was unanimously elected for the sarpanch post. The elected TDP leader is said to be a close relative of the MP and with his support, Madhu seems to have won the elections.
The YCP cadre is furious that Madhav has supported his relative without supporting the YSRCP candidate. Information is that the local leaders are preparing to meet the YSRCP top management regarding the same.
