One of the strong characters that have its roots pinned to the storyline of the film “Ragasthalama” is none other than the Rangamma Atta character played by anchor Anasuya. For flaunting the right amount of glamour to enacting a crucial sequence with ease, she got all the things right.
While the character has huge potential to give elevation to any actress who is playing it, actually Sukumar’s first choice has rejected him. None other than veteran heroine Raasi is the choice of the director to play that role. However, when Sukumar narrated the character design and look to her, Raasi is said to have felt awkward to wear the saree high above knees to do that character.
Worried with the glamour factor around it, Raasi has given up the role and that led Sukumar to approach other senior heroines who have all rejected it. Finally, it landed in the lap of Anasuya and she did the right thing in accepting it, as the character fetched her fame and name.
