Suresh Babu opens up on Narappa’s OTT release

With Narappa getting an OTT release, fans of Venkatesh and exhibitors expressed their dissatisfaction over producer Suresh Babu’s decision.

Recently, the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce held a special meeting and informed the producers not to lock deals with the OTT platforms. Some producers responded positively to this request.

The Film Chamber believes that the entire exhibitor system will be destroyed if movies are not released in theatres. However, the Narappa will be released on July 20 on Amazon Prime Video. Disagreements have been expressed over the direct release of such a big film.

Responding to this issue, Suresh Babu said that not only the exhibitors but also the producers have occurred losses due to the Covid-19 crisis. Producers have the right to release their films independently, be it on OTT or theatre. In the business of the film industry, there are no mistakes or confessions, said Suresh Babu. He says directly that everyone here works for money.

Suresh Babu claims it is not wrong to go for an OTT release when the film gets a good amount during the pandemic time. However, some people want to release movies in theatres while many support the producer’s decision.
