As soon as a separate state for Telangana formed, traces of every other party, except TRS started to slowly face away. This has mostly been because of the local feeling that everyone developed towards the state and the Chief of Telangana Rashtra Samiti, KCR, who played a key role in the formation of Telangana.
Although TDP turned out to be the major opposition for TRS in the 2014 elections, TDP was nowhere to be seen even in the slightest, during the 2019 elections. TDP is now relegated to just a single office opposite KBR park in Hyderabad, which is for the most part, almost non-existent.
With TDP looking like it will face away any time soon even in AP, with no proper leader after Chandrababu Naidu to take the party forward, Chandrababu Naidu is reportedly trying to make a comeback in Telangana, in a subtle way. Many sources are claiming that Babu is grooming Revanth Reddy, and encouraging him to start a regional party in Telangana, one which the TDP would back.
With Reddys at the helm of this party to be established by Revanth Reddy, Chandrababu is apparently trying to get a strong hold in Telangana once again. However, this plan looks to be highly risky, given that Revanth Reddy does not have enough experience to lead a party, or to govern a state.
Moreover, it will be very impossible for Revanth Reddy to attract the people of Telangana, who have already put their trust in the future leadership of KTR. Many politicians also feel that Chandrababu is just using Revanth Reddy for now, like he always does, and when Revanth Reddy does not prove to be useful anymore, Babu will cast him out, like always.
Practically though, it would be the best for Revanth Reddy to either side with the BJP or the TRS, given that TDP and Congress have lost their hold here, and given that both the parties are well beyond their haydays. Political analysts say that establishing a party would only cause more trouble for Revanth Reddy.
