Telangana Chief Minister KCR is all set to expand his cabinet today evening at 4 pm. As many as six TRS MLAs will be given ministerial positions on this auspicious day of Dasami. KCR has already informed Telangana’s new Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan about the expansion. Tamilisai will be taking over as Telangana’s new Governor on Sunday.
Currently, apart from KCR, the state cabinet comprises eleven ministers. There is a strong buzz that KCR’s son, former minister and TRS’ Working President KTR, the CM’s nephew and former Irrigation Minister Harish Rao will be back as state ministers.
Furthermore, Sabita Indrareddy, Satyavathi Rathod, Gangula Kamalakar and Puvvada Ajay Kumar are likely to be given the minister berths. On the other hand, Gutta Sukhender Reddy is likely to be made the Chairman of the Legislative Council.
There has been also been speculation that KCR might remove two ministers from his current cabinet. However, the process might be delayed for the time being. KCR’s new cabinet expansion is being seen as a move to take on the growing might of the BJP in the state.
Meanwhile, KCR has instructed Chief Secretary SK Joshi to make arrangements for the swearing-in of the new ministers at Raj Bhavan. After the swearing-in ceremony, the new cabinet will meet at the Pragati Bhavan at 7 pm to approve the annual budget which is scheduled to be tabled in the assembly on Monday.
