The Telangana High Court on Thursday dismissed a plea filed by actress Sai Pallavi in a controversial comments case, which she made against cow vigilantes and the movie Kashmir Files.
The Sultan Bazar police registered a case against the actress in June on the complaint of a Bajrang Dal member and sent a notice on June 21. Sai Pallavi approached the High Court seeking to cancel the notice issued by the Circle Inspector, Sultan Bazar.
In the petition that was heard by Justice Kanneganti Lalitha, the actress said that the impugned notice was issued on the basis of a malicious petition. However, the court rejected her request.
Akhil, a member of the Bajrang Dal, filed a complaint against Sai Pallavi claiming that the actress had made remarks equating cow defenders to Kashmiri terrorists, which had hurt the feelings of the Bajrang Dal and Go Bhakts.
