Telangana is No. 1 in solar power generating, with over 1,400 mw, said minister Jagadish Reddy. About this, he said that Rajasthan had been No.1 until recently, with 1,300 mw production. By this year end, Telangana will reach 2,000 mw production of solar power, he added. Daily a plant is coming up in some place or the other in the state, he said. While in other states, the government bears all the expenses of setting up a plant and production, in Telangana, private parties are doing it, he said.
