Thalapathy Vijay is a name that needs no introduction. He is a star hero with a huge fanbase in Tamil Nadu and has a decent craze in other South Indian states as well. He is a demigod to many and all his films collect huge chunks of money irrespective of the talk. The recent box office verdict of ‘Beast’ is the best example as the movie was criticised in all aspects but the ‘Kaththi’ hero’s star power pulled the film to a large extent.
He is one of the biggest stars down South and he is lining up one film after another. The ‘Snehitudu’ actor is currently working on ‘Varisu’ which will be released as ‘Varasudu’ in Telugu. It is directed by Vamsi Paidipally who made movies like ‘Oopiri’, ‘Brindavanam’, ‘Maharshi’, ‘Yevadu’ and ‘Munna’ in Telugu. There was a talk that it was bilingual but Vijay made it clear in an interview that it will be made in Tamil and gets dubbed into other languages. As we all know, this big-budget movie is bankrolled by Dil Raju. This is the Tamil producer’s maiden Tamil project.
After working with star producer Dil Raju, Thalapathy Vijay is reportedly making moves to plan with another big banner from Tollywood. Grapevine suggests that Mythri Movie Makers handed with a heft cheque as advance long back and Vijay will be working under their banner soon. If sources are to be believed, Atlee is going to direct this project. The banner that made movies like ‘Srimanthudu’, ‘Janatha Garage’ and ‘Rangasthalam’ has reportedly given an advance for Atlee too and it is very much likely that Vijay and Atlee will be teaming up once again. Previously, this combination gave super hits like ‘Theri’, ‘Mersal’ and ‘Bigil’. Currently, Atlee is busy with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ which will be released on 2nd June 2023. Vijay has okayed a project with his ‘Master’ director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie under Mythri Movie Makers banner is expected to begin by the end of 2023 under Atlee’s direction if everything goes as planned.
