Tharun Bhascker has lodged a police complaint with the Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police Station at Gachibowli. Acting on online trollers who tried to twist his compliments to a Malayalam film Kappela on his Instagram story, Tharun made the above complaint with the CCPS.
It all began when Tharun opined his views on Malayalam movie Kappela and praised it as realistic drama. He indicated that such realistic drama is in total contrast to commercial films in Telugu. This hasn’t gone down well with fans of a particular hero who thought Tharun’s remarks were against the hero and thus things turned ugly as two individuals “resorted” to trolling and abusing.
“For the past few days, a post that we had put up regarding films in general was distorted out of proportion on social media and was used to troll me and my team,” said Tharun Bhascker. Tharun said he and his line producers had first contacted the trollers and spoke to them politely and tried to explain how trolling affects individuals. He said his team has told them that abusive language and personal remarks would be taken seriously. Tharun said the initial response of the two individuals namely Anudeep and Krishna Teja Chowdare were positive but later turned “serious” as they allegedly tried to modify the conversation to look like a “threat”. He alleged that the two individuals had tried to twist their telephonic conversation.
Tharun said he had submitted the telephonic conversations to the police. He said the phone calls were also made in the presence of cops. “We are taking this seriously and will take action against every threat, phone call, defamation, false allegation posts and messages,” Tharun warned. Tharun has given a written complaint to Cyber Crime Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) S Harinath and the officials are probing the issue.
Meanwhile, Tharun Bhascker is working on his next film with Venkatesh Daggubati. Touted to be a sports drama, the film revolves around the life of a horse jockey who eventually turns into a gambler on horse racing. The yet-to-be-titled film is set in the milieu of Hyderabad Race Club at Malakpet.
