THE END to Chiru’s role as a politician!

Megastar Chiranjeevi, who entered politics almost a decade ago with a lot of hype and hungama and created a sensation in Andhra politics, almost made a quiet exit from politics on Wednesday. It was the last day for outgoing MPs of Rajya Sabha on Wednesday and the Upper House gave a warm send-off to all of them, including deputy chairman V J Kurien. However, Chiranjeevi was nowhere to be seen.In fact, no media person in Delhi bothered to find out whether he was present in the House or not, as he has not been coming to the Rajya Sabha for quite some.

People have almost forgotten him as a politician but enjoyed his comeback into films with Khaidi No. 150 and are eagerly awaiting release of his next film Sye Raa.Now that his term as an MP is over, it is not clear whether he will continue in politics or confine himself to films.Yet, social media has not let the mega star retire from politics just like that. A social media activist expressed his views on Chiranjeevi in rather strong words.

It reads like this:

“You brought a lot of glamour to Rajya Sabha. Nobody can do the silent demonstration like you did sitting at home and braving risk to your life during the time of state bifurcation four years ago or now when the entire Delhi was shaken by the movement for special category status to AP. In fact, one cannot even imagine to follow your footsteps. We are really grateful to you for your services rendered to the nation as a Rajya Sabha member and Union minister of state for tourism.

You are so great to control your emotions and hide a lot of grief within your heart like a volcano, when thousands of people died and lakhs of people were badly hit during 2013 Chardham floods when you were central tourism minister.Instead, you tried to remain a happy person by celebrating beach festivals along with your family members. Hats off to you for showing to the people as to how one can remain happy even during the times of tragedy. There is no exaggeration to say that such a great personality like you was ever seen in Rajya Sabha. And it is difficult to find a person of your stature to replace you in Rajya Sabha.

Your services to the people of the state as a politician, the transparency which you had adopted right from the day of launching the party to selling of party tickets at the time of elections and finally, the way you mortgaged the self-respect of the Telugus and the party at the feet of Mother of Italy – are really unparalleled and will remain forever in the hearts of the Telugu people. It is a different matter that your detractors valued all these services at Rs 500 crore, which is very unfortunate.

May be they are hurt by your refusal to donate your old house in your native village of Mogalturu to run a library or they felt bad for not producing accounts for the donations received from abroad and the blood donated by millions of your fans.

THANK U #CHIRU SIR….”
