Given the unlock 5.0 guidelines which were passed recently, movie theaters across the twin Telugu states might be reopening in a month or so. Exhibitors and theaters managements are planning to re-open theaters by Diwali, which falls in the second week of November.
This should come as a positive update for the makers of Uppena, Red, and Krack as they had patiently waited for theaters to re-open despite receiving OTT offers for their respective films.
Apparently, Vaishnav Tej who will be making his debut with Uppena is a relieved man now.
Previously, there were rumors that Mythri Movie Makers were contemplating the option of releasing Uppena directly on digital platforms as theaters remained shut for a prolonged period of time. They were caught in two minds whether to wait for theaters to reopen or go the OTT way and nothing was certain in regard to the film’s release. This left Vaishnav Tej in a spot of bother as he wasn’t comfortable with his debut film possibly skipping theatrical release. But that won’t be the case anymore, thanks to unlock 5.0 guidelines.
Uppena is gearing up for its theatrical release and will be hitting the silver screens sooner than later. The makers will be locking an optimal release date in the next few weeks and make an official announcement accordingly.
