‘They have changed my rating, not my mind’

After Deepika Padukone produced and acted in ‘Chhapaak’ as an acid attack survivor, her performance has been highly lauded. But due to her surprise visit to JNU and extending solidarity by meeting communist leader left many of her fans to turn against her and boycotted her film.

Receiving a lot of flak and negativity online, the netizens also made Chhapaak’s IMDb rating drop as low as possible by leaving bad reviews. In a deliberate move, those who planned to boycott her film made a stooping attempt by successfully bringing the IMDB’s rating to the lowest number.

However, the actress has finally responded to the IMDb rating issue. When she was asked about the same during a radio programme, she said, “Unhone meri rating badli hai, mera mann nahi.” IMDB rating was initially 8.5 when the film got releaed. But it drastically dropped to 4.6.

With #BoycottChhapaak trended on Twitter and other social media platforms, Deepika has unfortunately gained a lot of haters, alleging that the actress is an ‘anti-national’. It is learnt that out of the 18,737 voters on IMDB, nearly 10,500 voters have given it the lowest rating of 1.
