There are so many reports that the YSRCP MPs are facing too many struggles from their party’s MLAs. Generally, the MPs show their dominance when they win seats from the national parties as all their prominence is located in Delhi and they can have direct access with the high command. That is why some MLAs have some fear and respect for the Members of Parliament.
Congress and BJP MPs have not faced any opposition from MLAs in the past. MLAs were circling around MPs calling for funds. The Congress was in power in joint Andhra Pradesh till 2004 and 2009. Congress MPs then dominated the constituencies. In each of the Assembly constituencies under the Parliamentary Constituency, the MPs formed a separate category of their own. MLAs get excited when MPs tour their constituencies.
But that is not the case with the YSRCP and TDP at the moment. The ruling party MPs are the least recognized in the party and especially ministers are showing their dominance in the government. BJP is not at all tolerating the interference of YSRCP and that’s why the MPs may have lost all their significance these days.
Even in 2014, when TDP was ruling the state, the TDP MPs haven’t been given minimum importance. At least MLAs wouldn’t ask them to tour their constituencies. There would have been no place for MPs on the platforms unless the Chief Minister had visited. MPs like Keshineni Nani, Murali Mohan, and Sivaprasad expressed dissatisfaction with the attitude of the then MLAs. Many MPs had personally complained to Chandrababu about this at that time.
Now, the same has been happening in TDP and YSRCP these days. YCP MPs and TDP MPs are directed to nod for every word of BJP in parliament and they have been forced to vote for any bill that BJP produces in the parliament. Who would want this type of power anyway?
