TikTok Video: Teen accidentally ‘shot’ dead

In spite of many fatal accidents, teenagers are still apathetic especially when it comes to flaunting their talent or heroism on social media platforms. While some are losing lives taking frivolous selfies, some are getting killed for showing off their vanity skills. One such case has emerged again and this time, on the controversial TikTok app.

A teenager from Ahmednagar district was accidentally killed after pressing the trigger of a country-made pistol while shooting for a small video clip on TikTok app. The guy has been identified as Pratik Wadekar, who is 17 years old. It is reported that his relatives were posing for a TikTok video with a country-made pistol and one of his relatives had brought the pistol along. Unfortunately, the bullet has hit the boy and he died on the spot.

The whole idea bloomed when a group of cousins decide to shoot an entertaining video for the TikTok app as they were waiting at a hotel room. The country-made pistol was brought by one of the relatives and the Shirdi inspector Anil Katke said that “While shooting the video, the trigger of the pistol was accidentally pressed and the bullet hit Pratik”.

Soon after the incident, all other cousins ran out of the room and even threatened hotel staff who tried to stop them. The police took Pratik to the government hospital where he was declared brought dead. A case has been registered under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder). Among others, Sunny Pawar and Nitin Wadekar has been taken into custody and one more is still absconding.
