TRS Chides Vidyasagar Rao For Remarks On Ayodhya

The TRS leadership is said to be very upset with the controversial remarks made by Korutla MLA Kalwakuntla Vidyasagar Rao. His comments about the fund collection for Ayodhya temple have not gone down well with the leadership, which is already battling a resurgent, pro-Hindutva BJP.

The party leadership feels his comments will spur a massive reaction from the Hindu society. Already the BJP and the Sangh parivar organizations have organized state-wide protests against the statements of Vidyasagar Rao and sought to know if this was the official stand of the ruling party leadership. The BJP burnt the TRS MLA in effigy. It has asked Rao to immediately issue a statement apologizing for the remarks. Rao quickly issued a statement saying he was misquoted. He said he has immense faith in Lord Ram and was ready to collect funds for the Ayodhya temple. He also said that he had only criticized the BJP not Lord Ram.

Seeing the reaction to the MLA’s intemperate remarks, the party reportedly reprimanded him severely and asked him to issue an apology. The MLA quickly came before the media to eat his own words. Well! Vidyasagar Rao is known for his foot-in-the-mouth remarks. In the past too, he made intemperate remarks on farmers and then issue a clarification in leisure.
