The two are young and ambitious. Both are dare devils unafraid of taking on the mighty. Both are fiery speakers who can rouse the masses. Both do not mind getting arrested. Both are hugely popular leaders with a mass base. Both are first time MPs. Both are presidents of their respective parties. Interestingly, both face similar problems.
No marks for guessing who the leaders are. One is TPCC chief Revanth Reddy and the other is BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay. Ever since Bandi Sanjay took over, the BJP is zooming on fast lane. There are three major victories – in Dubbak, in GHMC and then in Huzurabad. He is taking the ruling TRS head on and is striking terror in the TRS rank and file.
Ditto with Revanth Reddy. His rise in the Congress is meteoric. He has the gift of the gab and has a way with words. He too is tormenting the ruling party with his programmes, policies and speeches. There is a renewed enthusiasm among the Congress cadre ever since he became the party state chief. But, both are facing the same problem.
Both Bandi and Revanth are facing troubles from the seniors in their party. While the seniors are adopting a no-cooperation attitude towards Revanth in the Congress, the seniors are holding secret conclaves to lodge complaints against Bandi. Several BJP leaders have already complained against him to Delhi leadership. How both these young leaders tide over these challenges remains to be seen. Let’s wait and watch
