We are aware that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been invited to the Republic Day celebrations in India. However, he cancelled his India tour due to the spread of Covid-19 new strain in Britain. Currently, the UK coronavirus strain has also spread to many countries around the world, including India.
On the occasion of 72nd Republic Day, Boris Johnson wished the people of India and regretted not being able to attend the Republic Day celebrations celebrated by the largest democracy in the world. However, the UK PM said he is interested in visiting India soon. To this end, he released a video message.
In his video message, Boris said: “I look forward to visiting India later this year, strengthening our friendship, and striving for the quantum leap in our relationship that Prime Minister @narendramodi and I have both pledged to achieve.”
He also said that India and UK are working side by side to develop, produce and distribute vaccines that will help to free humanity from the pandemic.
