Nandamuri Balakrishna brought immense craze to thigh-slapping scenes with his faction-backdrop films. But, Hardly anyone expect someone like Krish to include such a sequence in a historical movie like ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’.
In a recent interview, Krish disclosed the untold story: ‘People keep saying I’m a Class Director but I don’t agree. Just because my previous films where mostly appreciated by the class audience doesn’t mean I can’t handle mass subjects/scenes. It just happened that way due to the kind of stories I had picked up. That’s why, I included few scenes which will please the masses in ‘GPSK’. Initially, Balakrishna hesitated to do a thigh slap as he thought it mayn’t fit well in a historical subject. But, I convinced him to go ahead’.
‘In another scene, Balayya has done a dual thigh slap and it has come out well. But, I wasn’t convinced and removed it at the editing table. Upon watching the rushes, Balakrishna asked Me to include this sequence as well. When I expressed my concerns, He asked me to trust him in this matter as he have a gut feel of receiving overwhelming response. The reactions of audience is wonderful�€�I myself whistled while watching it in the theatre. Judgement of Balayya has been proven right’.
