Mythri Movie Makers, which has become one of the leading film production houses of Tollywood by recording huge hits with its first three films starring top heroes, later focussed on producing medium range films.
But the combinations that worked out for big films backfired when it came to small budget films. While films like Savyasachi and Amar Akbar Anthony turned out to be big disasters, even Dear Comrade did not live up to the expectations of the audiences.
After a series of flops, Mythri Movies has now pinned all its hopes on Sukumar-Allu Arjun film. But the small films made by it before this big-ticket film have proved to be a burden for this production house.
Mythri Movies has already been into production of the film “Uppena” with Vishnav Tej, brother of Sai Dharam Tej, as the hero. The film is nearing completion, but the budget has already overshot its limits.
Apart from this film with new hero-new director combination, many of its recent flops have landed Mythri Movies in a soup. It is now forced to release Uppena with a huge deficit.
The only ray of hope from this film is the key role played by Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi, which would definitely add craze to the film. It will also enhance its reach in Tamil industry.
In any case, production of small and medium range films has proved to be a huge burden for this otherwise successful production house.
