Upset with TDP, Harsha Kumar may launch new political party

Former MP and senior Congress leader G.V. Harsha Kumar, who had recently joined the Telugu Desam Party, has been upset with the party high command ever since his name did not figure out in the list of as Amalapuram MP candidate. Now, there is news that he will not be contesting in the 2019 elections and has chosen to stay away from the polls.

However, a section of leaders close to the senior Congress leader say that he is planning to launch a new political party. Apparently, his party will be focussed on attracting the dalit voter in state as they number upto 68 lakh. He is planning to meet Manda Krishna Madiga and other leaders from the community to decide on an action plan.

Speaking to reporters, Harsha Kumar stated that Jana Sena and YSR Congress Party had insulted him and had approached him just before the polls last time too. However, he said he was happy with TDP’s invitation and expected a ticket. After not being given a ticket, though Harsha Kumar did not voice his criticism against the TDP, he seems to be disappointed and has chosen to work on his own party.

Looks like this election season is going to offer voters very many options.
