Powerstar Pawan Kalyan made a stellar comeback with ‘Vakeel Saab’. His return to films after three years turned out to be very successful as the courtroom drama worked wonders at the box office despite the Corona scare in the month of April. The film came with huge expectations and managed to stay in theatres for only 14 days due to the second wave but it minted over 100 crores which proved Pawan’s stamina once again.
The film came out on Amazon Prime Video shortly after its release but recorded a good number of views. ‘Vakeel Saab’ was finally premiered on Zee Telugu during the weekend. The television network promoted the world television premiere heavily and it worked out well. The film managed to get solid ratings on its first telecast. It recorded 19.12 rating which is the highest in Pawan Kalyan’s career till date.
As we know, ‘Vakeel Saab’ is a Telugu remake of Hindi film ‘Pink’ which had Taapsee playing the lead while Amitabh Bachchan was seen as the lawyer. Pawan Kalyan played the title role in this remake while Nivetha Thomas, Ananya Nagalla and Anjali played the female leads who fight for justice with Pawan’s help. Venu Sriram directed this remake while Dil Raju produced this movie in association with Boney Kapoor. Shruti Hassan played a special cameo as Pawan’s romantic interest in this movie while Thaman is the music composer.
Currently, Pawan Kalyan is working on the remake of the Malayalam film ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’. Saagar K Chandra is the director while Trivikram penned the dialogues. Rana will be seen as the other lead in this action thriller which has Pawan doing the character of a police officer named Bheemla Nayak. Nithya Menen and Aishwarya Rajesh are the heroines in this flick while Thaman is composing the music once again. Sithara Entertainments banner is bankrolling this project once again and the shooting is currently in progress.
Along with that, Pawan is also working on an epic period drama titled ‘Hari Hari Veeramallu’ under the direction of Krish. Niddhi Agerwal is the heroine in the movie while Jacqueline Fernandes plays an important role. Set in the backdrop of the pre-Independence era, the motion poster which came out a few months ago created a huge hype.
