Mega hero Varun Tej has come a long way in terms of his film’s 1st-day collections owing to the fact that he is choosy with content. His latest film Valmiki aka Gaddalakonda Ganesh has surpassed his career-best solo collections on 1st day at the box office.
Though Varun has F2 in the kitty that made 7.6+ crores share on release day, that happens to be a multi-starrer with a lot of other factors supporting the movie. But now, Valmiki has collected 6.43 crores ‘share’ on the first day, surpassing his previous solo best Tholiprema that made 5.1 crores on first day.
Valmiki got mixed reactions from critics but thumbs up from audiences as it collected 1.86 crores share from Nizam, 82 lakhs from Ceeded, 1.1+ cr from Godavari districts, thereby giving a total of 5.83 crores ‘share’ from Telugu states alone. Including 35 lakhs from Overseas and another 25 lakhs from other regions, the film made a whopping 6.43 crores share on the First Day.
In other words, we have to say that ‘Varun Gattar Lepindu’, but then the film should hold on to similar collections in the first weekend as the total target is to get 25 crores of theatrical collections to make all the distributors’ loss-free.
Bankrolled by 14 Reels Plus and directed by Harish Shankar, the film’s title change seems to have no impact on the film’s prospects at the box office.
