Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is one of the most happening actresses in Telugu and Tamil right now. After a few films in the early stages of her career, Varalaxmi decided to make her mark by not choosing glam doll roles and started selecting substantial roles. She gives importance to her roles and doesn’t mind doing villain roles too.
The actress played villain roles in movies like recent ‘Yashoda’, ‘Pandem Kodi 2’ and ‘Sarkar’. After that, she bagged key roles in movies like ‘Maari 2’, ‘Tenali Ramakrishna’, ‘Krack’, ‘Naandhi’, and did a cameo in Gopichand’s ‘Pakka Commercial’ too. She is now working on notable projects such as ‘#NBK107’, ‘Hanu-Man’ and many others. She is having over a dozen Telugu and Tamil films in her hand right now.
She recently took to social media and shared her journey in the film industry as today marks 10 years of her first film’s release. She wrote, “10 years today #podaapodi released .. 10 years later #yashoda releases.!!! Was it an easy journey..? NO. Was it everything you hoped for ..? NO. Was it worth it..? YES 10 years of hard work, discipline ,rejection, depression,feeling that nothing is ever gonna go your way.. but then now when I look back, I say thank you.. for every rejection that made me wanna work harder.. made me stronger.. made me wanna prove every person wrong..!! Today I wanna thank every single soul that wished me well.. that supported me through it all.. every fan that made it possible for me to be here today.. 45 movies later I’m exactly where I wanna be.. doing exactly what I wanna do.. and being respected for my choices..respected for my work .. and most importantly respected for who I am..!!”
She added, “I worked hard to be where I am.. I struggled.. I fell.. but I got up and moved on.. A man is an architect of his/her own fate..!! I believe in that.. never give up.. always believe in yourself.. there will be a 100 people telling you that you are not worth it.. but listen to that one voice inside you telling you that you will make it.. It may be hard but in the end. Dreams do come true.. Thank you to my village of people who there right beside me telling me that it will be ok after every bad day.. standing by me through it all..
