Mega Prince Varun Tej has hit a rough patch recently. He arrived as a solo hero with movies like ‘Ghani’, ‘Gandheevdhari Arjuna’, and ‘Operation Valentine’. All three of them became disasters and his market took a severe beating because of it. His fan following is getting is getting affected and sources say that his upcoming movies are facing the heat due to it.
During the time of ‘Operation Valentine’, he started a movie titled ‘Matka’ which is set in a period backdrop. The glimpse generated a decent response and Karuna Kumar of ‘Palasa 1978’ fame is directing it. Around 15 days of the shoot was completed and Ram Talluri bankrolled the film under SRT Entertainments. The movie’s budget was initially planned at 55 crores.
Varun Tej had two disasters and there are doubts about the box-office stamina of the Mega hero. Along with the digital rates, everything is going down and the makers are finding it a risk to invest such huge money on this film. Reports suggest that Varun Tej is doing all he can as he has reportedly agreed to a reduction in remuneration.
Apparently, Varun met with the producers and was involved in the budget details and new schedules in the last week of May. Let us wait and see if all his efforts work out or not. Meenakshi Chowdary and Nora Fatehi are the female leads in this movie. Naveen Chandra and Kannada Kishore will be playing prominent roles.
Ashish Teja is the production designer and Suresh is the art director. A huge vintage set depicting Vizag in the 60s is going to be constructed by the team. GV Prakash who is signing multiple Telugu projects lately is going to compose the music for this flick too. Priyaseth will handle the cinematography. Karthika Srinivas R is the editor. This indeed is the first Pan India project for Varun Tej and it will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages. The rest of the cast includes Ajay Ghosh, Mime Gopi, Roopalakshmi, Vijayrama Raju, Jagadeesh, Raj Thirandas and others.
