April first is the new in demand release date in Telugu Cinema. While Rajamouli would like to not have any other film releasing for two more weeks after 25th of March, due to pandemic there is grave inability of dates.
Hence, he might not object to another well known hero’s film releasing within a week of his film, RRR starring biggest stars Jr. NTR and Ram Charan.
Varun Tej’s Ghani and Ravi Teja’s Ramarao on Duty are in race to lock the April 1st release date. April 14th is booked by three biggies namely, KGF Chapter 2, Laal Singh Chadda and Beast.
No one can try to compete with them on same day. KGF Chapter 2 will occupy 80% of screens if not more, in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for sure. Beast will be preferred in 90% of screens in Tamil Nadu as Vijay is the top most star in Tamil Cinema.
Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chadda will take 60-70% of Theatres in rest of the states, all over India. In some circuits, 100% too. Because it will be first “Khan biggie” releasing post pandemic.
So, 1st April will help these two films to have breathing space at box office has people will still prefer RRR till 14th April, in Telugu states. With all factors weighed in, Ghani and Ramarao on Duty filmmakers have started their discussions with distributors to lock the date.
