The Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) had nominated Ram Nath Kovind as the presidential candidate back in 2105. Given the strength the saffron party enjoys, Ram Nath Kovind has won the elections and assumed office. Since 2017, he has been rendering his services in his highly respectable position.
As the tenure of a President is five years, Ram Nath Kovind is expected to be in the office for a few more months only and a fresh election will be held for the position. Amid this, a piece of news has been doing rounds on the credible candidate for the post.
A few media reports said that there are high chances for the BJP to field serving Vice-President Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu as the presidential candidate. Even the news saying the same is being shared widely on social media platforms.

A few leading media outlets have quoted the officials at the office saying that the news that is being circulated is false and there is no truth in it.
