Hyderabad, India – September 9, 2024 – Noted director Venkat Prabhu, who recently released the action thriller “The GOAT” starring Thalapathy Vijay, has addressed the negative reviews from critics. Prabhu asserted that the film was not intended for critics but for the audience.
He emphasized the hard work and dedication put into the film, criticizing those who offer negative comments without acknowledging the effort. Prabhu explained that the numerous movie references in “The GOAT” were intentional, aiming to create a celebratory experience for movie lovers.
He clarified that the film was not designed for guest appearances but rather focused on including elements that would appeal to the audience. Prabhu revealed that due to time constraints, the film’s original runtime of 3 hours and 40 minutes had to be reduced to 2 hours and 59 minutes. He expressed his desire to release the director’s cut with the complete runtime on an OTT platform.
Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music for “The GOAT,” while Siva Karthikeyan and Trisha made special appearances. Despite the negative reviews, the film has performed well at the box office, grossing 280 crores in just four days.
