Known for his gritty and intense movies, popular director Vetrimaaran is regarded as one of the best in Kollywood. He developed a cult following over the years with his unique movies. His movies like ‘Visaranai’, ‘Asuran’, ‘Vada Chennai’, ‘Aadukulam’, ‘Polladhavan’ and many more are raw, intense and gripping. His last outing ‘Viduthalai’ was a huge success too and won a lot of appreciation.
He made a lot of films with Dhanush and Vetrimaaran is one of the few directors who utilizes the full potential of the two-time National Award winner. His ‘Vada Chennai’ was a huge hit when it was released in 2018 and people are eagerly waiting for the second part. He recently talked about his next projects. At the Tamil cinema journalists union, he said that ‘Vaadivaasal’ is in the pre-production stage right now.
He added that it will start after wrapping up ‘Viduthalai: Part 2’. He said, “The bull is being recreated using animatronics at a London Studio. So, I will start to work on it after Viduthalai 2.” He assured that ‘Vada Chennai 2’ will happen but only after finishing the current projects. When asked about the prospect of working with Thalapathy Vijay, he said, “Vijay and I have been discussing for a long time. He is ready. Once I finish my commitments, I shall narrate my idea after developing it. If he likes it, we’d take it forward.”
