There are some songs that get etched in the hearts of people forever. Songs from superstar Rajnikanth’s blockbuster movie ‘Sivaji’ belong to that category. Especially, the ‘Balleilakka’ song which was sung by the evergreen SP Balasubramaniam is very special for the Tamil audience. It represents their culture and the tune composed by AR Rahman is quite addictive.
Recently, AR Rahman took to social media and posted a video where a group of foreigners performed a flash mob choir on the streets of Copenhagen. They sang ‘Balleilakka’ song in perfect harmony and we can hear the people cheering and appreciation for the singers. It is very special when an Indian song gets such a response in countries like Denmark and it explains the power of music which is devoid of all languages.
ARR even mentioned SP Balasubramaniam in the hashtags which shows the respect he has towards the late singer. Rahman’s son AR Ameen too expressed happiness over his dad’s music reaching distant countries. Have look at this pleasing video.
