‘Leo’ is a movie that was released with massive expectations and people hoped that Lokesh Kanagaraj would deliver another banger like ‘Vikram’ and ‘Khaidi’. The film opened to stupendous collections on the first day and it is creating a lot of records in Tamil Nadu. But the movie is being subjected to criticism for not reaching the expectations and many are claiming that it is the weakest movie in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe.
The slick making and stylish action sequences are a big plus but the wafer-thin storyline did not impress many. Though they tried to bring some enthusiasm at last by bringing a few characters from LCU into ‘Leo’, the movie is nowhere near ‘Khaidi’ or ‘Vikram’. Now that, ‘Leo’ is part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe and Lokesh revealing that the flashback of ‘Leo’ may or may not be true, there is a lot of curiousness about what happens next.
One positive thing about ‘Leo’ is the performance of Thalapthy Vijay. He delivered a very controlled and emotional performance in the movie. He is getting a lot of praise and many claim that they have seen the actor in Vijay instead of a star after a long time. But he is reportedly not the first choice for ‘Leo’. Lokesh recently revealed that he had another hero in mind when he penned the script of the film five years back.
When Lokesh worked with Vijay in ‘Master’ and got to know him as a person, he reportedly decided to make ‘Leo’ with him so that the ‘Bigil’ hero’s acting capabilities would be shown to everyone. However, Lokesh did not reveal who was the hero in his mind when he actually wrote the script back in the day.
