Versatile actor Vijay Sethupathi, renowned for his exceptional acting skills and down-to-earth personality, has reportedly turned down a significant role in Buchi Babu Sana’s upcoming pan-Indian film featuring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor.
Buchi Babu, who gained prominence with the blockbuster “Uppena” where Sethupathi played a pivotal role, extended an offer to the talented actor for a key part in his next project, tentatively titled “RC16”. However, Sethupathi declined the offer, citing his desire to avoid being typecast as a “father” figure.
Having previously portrayed parental roles in both “Uppena” and the recent hit “Maharaja”, Sethupathi expressed his intention to explore diverse characters and avoid falling into a repetitive pattern. Despite the lucrative financial opportunity presented by the pan-Indian film, he prioritized artistic growth and versatility over commercial gains.
While Sethupathi may have missed out on a potentially significant role in “RC16”, the film is still poised to be a blockbuster, with Ram Charan’s star power, Janhvi Kapoor’s presence, and the involvement of acclaimed filmmaker Buchi Babu Sana. The project also boasts the talents of Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, music maestro AR Rahman, and renowned cinematographer Ratnavelu.
