In a few days from now, senior Congress leader K V P Ramachandra Rao would be losing his Rajya Sabha membership. He will be virtually jobless after that.
In fact, there were reports that KVP made a desperate attempt to get the Congress party nomination for Rajya Sabha seat for the third consecutive term from Madhya Pradesh, where the party has good number of MLAs.
Apparently, even the high command is said to have agreed to consider his candidature positively, but the sudden crisis in the Congress party in Madhya Pradesh following revolt by Jyothiraditya Scindia and resignation of over a dozen MLAs from their assembly membership.
Now, KVP is not in a position to approach the high command again for the RS seat and was forced to quietly opt out of the race.
Though he has wide links with several industrialists and political leaders in Delhi, he cannot stay back without any position and will have to come back to Hyderabad.
Now, the question is what KVP will do now. Though his family is still closer to the family of his bosom friend Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, he is unlikely to join the YSR Congress party led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy because of the personal gap between him and Jagan.
He will definitely not get adjusted to Jagan’s style of functioning. So, he will have to lie low for some time before taking up any other assignment.
