The infamous movie ticket price issue created a big storm in Andhra Pradesh and the heat surrounding the issue is getting bigger and bigger with the politicians and Tollywood members making key comments in connection with the row. We have seen how the AP Ministers are reacting to Nani’s comments.
The issue took an unexpected turn with maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma aka RGV making key comments on the issue. Speaking to a leading Newschannel on the issue, RGV spoke in favor of industry and questioned the behavior of the Andhra Pradesh government.
Questioning the Government’s behavior, RGV asked if there are any rules that impose a cap on the prices of any services. If the manufacturer has the right to fix the prices for the products, then why can’t the producer cannot fix prices for the film they make, he asked.
What the right the government poses to step into the tickets issue as it is a private matter. The government shall not impose any rules on this and the producers who put money in the movie will fix money for the tickets, the filmmaker said.
He also countered the government’s version that the ticket prices were reduced for the benefit of the public and said, he doesn’t understand the logic behind this with the government not mentioning its intentions correctly.
RGV also found fault with the arguments that the producers should reduce the movie budget and the stars should start taking less remuneration. RGV said that hero is the main aspect of the film and if the films are made on less scale then the government would get affected as the government gets fewer taxes with this.
