India, which once suffered from the Coronavirus outbreak in September made wonders in combatting the virus. The infections came down rapidly over the past few months. Situations in the country came under control after the Covid-19 vaccination drive was started.
India has set an example in tackling the pandemic. After vaccinating the Corona warriors in the country, India has shared vaccines with other countries as well. More than 60 countries were benefited from this.
World Health Organisation (WHO) boss Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus praised India’s efforts in tackling the pandemic and supporting other countries by sharing vaccines.
Tedros took to Microbliggingsite Twitter to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sharing the vaccines and hoped that other countries will also follow India’s example.
“Thanks, India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for supporting vaccine equity. Your commitment to COVAX and sharing COVID-19 vaccine doses is helping 60+ countries start vaccinating their health workers and other priority groups. I hope other countries will follow your example,” his tweet reads.
It has to be noted that earlier this week, the WHO chief urged the nations and pharma companies across the globe to intensity the vaccination process and also claimed that leaving some countries behind might affect the world.
