Sankranti is considered as the best season to release big films. The festive season has the capacity to hold 3-4 for huge releases at the same time. This is why many stars show interest in arriving during this period. They try to lock the release dates very early and start releasing the promotional content accordingly.
The Sankranti season of 2024 was supposed to be huge with movies from Mahesh Babu, Prabhas and Charan. While ‘Guntur Karam’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ teams announced the release dates long back, people predicted Charan’s ‘Game Changer’ to arrive during the same season. There was a talk that ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ might be ready by then.
While ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has been postponed, ‘Game Changer’ and ‘Pushpa’ may not be released till summer. With ‘Salaar’ moving away from September 28th, there is a talk that it might be released during the Sankranti festival week. Mahesh Babu’s ‘Guntur Karam’ is in the shooting stage right now but it is the only film that looks like it is going to arrive on the announced date.
There are movies like Ravi Teja’s ‘Eagle’, Teja Sajja’s ‘Hanu-Man’ and Nagarjuna’s ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ which are planning to hit the screens during the Sankranti season. Sources say that Vijay’s film with Parasuram might also be released during the same period. With a lot of uncertainty over the movie releases in January, it is to be seen who makes the most out of the big festive season.
