The confrontation between the Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) goes on, as the ruling and opposition parties are targeting each other on key issues in the states, mainly on the issues that involve the interests of the farmer community.
Hitting out at the Telangana Chief Minister KCR, T-BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind slammed him over the promises he made for the farmers in the state. He asked, what happened to the promise made by KCR to provide free pesticides for the farmers. How many farmers received the free pesticides, he asked.
Addressing the press briefing at Jagityal’s Metpally, Dharmapuri Arvind asked why the sugarcane factories are not open in the state. When people are coming forward to set up new factories, why is the state government not permitting the factories? There are high chances to produce ethanol from Sugar Cane and Maize. But KCR is saying no for the two crops, Arvind alleged.
Talking about the BJP cadre facing eggs attack, the MP opined that eggs are hurled at the party leaders. He opined that hurling eggs will help Etela Rajender’s poultry business. We are welcoming the decision to give ex-gratia to the Punjab farmers. But the state government should also come forward to save the farmers who faced losses with the crop, he maintained.
Adding further, the BJP MP said that the Centre has been asking the state government to reduce the Parboiled rice cultivation for the last three years but the government is not working on this. Centre is ready to buy its share of paddy. What about the state government’s share, he asked.
