The Telangana BJP is in deep trouble. The victory run in Dubbak and GHMC has not just been stalled, but also the party had lost prestigious Graduate MLC elections and is likely to lose in Nagarjunasagar too. As if this was not enough, the party is suffering internal group rivalries and there is a concerted attempt to weaken state president Bandi Sanjay from within the party.
Given all this winning the municipal corporations elections in Warangal and Khammam and municipalities in Nakrekal, Kothur, Siddipet and Atchampet has become very crucial for the party. This victory alone can bring the mojo back for the BJP. Otherwise, the party will become weaker and lose the initiative. The morale of the workers will go further down. Realising this, Bandi Sanjay is focusing mainly on Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation. He is currently conducting road shows in Warangal. He has begun the road shows on Saturday and will continue till Tuesday. He has already covered several divisions. He would also cover some parts of Siddipet, where the party has high hopes of performing better than last term.
The BJP feels that it needs to win Warangal to wrest the initiative. If it fails to win Warangal, the morale of the workers and the cadre will go down. Hence Sanjay has given four consecutive days for Warangal municipal areas. Sources say that the BJP feels that Khammam is a gone case and that it should concentrate only on Warangal.
