Why is Chandrababu failing to revive TDP?

Though Chandrababu has for the last two years been claiming to clean up the TDP and infuse young blood, nothing concrete has been done so far. Except for suspending a handful of low-level leaders from the party in Nellore, Chandrababu has neither shown any intent nor any sense of urgency.

The biggest problem for the TDP over the last two years, is that most of its key leaders in the districts and mandals are inactive. Many top leaders are not even responding to the party calls and are focusing on businesses. Some are only showing token presence in the party for old times sake, but are not doing anything concrete on the ground.

The party’s loyal workers, who want a revival of the TDP, feel that despite his tall claims nothing would be done. They feel that Chandrababu has not appointed any committee or even a study groups to understand the major problem areas in the party. He has not even sought the opinion of the party’s loyal workers. As of now,he has not concrete plans.

They feel that everything so Chandrababu-centric. Every decision is finally taken by him. This has been happening ever since he took over reins of power in the 1990s. A one-man show, however efficient, is bound to fade out sooner or later, they argue. Now, he has effectively ensured that there is no second-in-command in the party. As a result, however ambitious, the schemes to revive the party would fail, opine analysts.
