Star actress Samantha Ruth Prabhas accepted Gunasekhar’s ‘Shaakunthalam’ when she was still married. After that, she got divorced, went on a vacation, completed a couple of projects, did an item song and even had a few film releases too. But ‘Shaakunthalam’ is yet to arrive on the silver screen.
The shooting was wrapped up long back and all the makers managed to release was a first look poster on Samantha’s birthday. The poster created a lot of buzz due to Samantha’s sensual glamour show in an angelic white attire. She is playing the lead role in this mythological drama which is based on the epic Mahabharatha.
These days, the filmmakers are promoting their films even when the shooting isn’t complete. They are releasing regular updates in order to keep the buzz alive. They start with posters, move to lyrical videos, release a teaser, follow it up with a few key updates and finally release the trailer which takes the expectations quite high.
But the shooting of ‘Shaakunthalam’ wrapped up in August 2021 as announced by the makers and only a poster was released since then. There are reports that co-producer Dil Raju is not happy with the final output given by Gunasekhar. A few others say that Samantha is also not impressed by the content and that is the reason why she is staying away from this flick.
Fans of Samantha are expecting to see the film as soon as they can. Let us wait and see if there is going to be any update from the ‘Shaakunthalam’ team in the coming days or not. Apart from this project, Samantha is acting in Deverakonda’s ‘Khushi’, another female-oriented flick ‘Yashoda’ and a Hindi web series with Varun Dhawan too.
