Over the last few days during election campaigning in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress President Y. S Jaganmohan Reddy has been picking a few key leaders and making promises of including them in his Cabinet when he becomes the Chief Minister. In one such public address to the people of Mangalagiri, Jagan said that YSRCP candidate Alla Ramakrishna Reddy who is contesting against TDP’s Nara Lokesh in the constituency will get a Cabinet berth when YSRCP forms the new government in Andhra Pradesh.
This is not the first time that Jagan has reiterated his idea of being the CM rather than working for the people. Time and again, all his supporters and followers have been injecting this into their leader that he is going to be the CM. For someone like Jagan whose has not had political experience and believed that he deserves to be the CM just because he is former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s son, such dreams seem viable with money.
However, his image improved considerably after his Padayatra and a strong political campaign has been trying to do an image makeover for him. Despite all the cases and having gone to prison, Jagan enjoys considerable support from Reddy and Christian community. Jagan’s constant banter of becoming a Chief Minister reflects that he strongly believes he deserves to be the CM, irrespective of his party’s performance.
Additionally, he thinks money can buy anything. His traits, behaviour with people and his brazen attitude are also reflective of his arrogance in assuming he is going to be the CM, without a reality check. With such self-assumptions, while Jagan likes to believe that he is going to come to power, at least his party leaders should caution him about his over-confidence and give him the state of ground realities which could be different from his world of assumptions.
