Twists and turns are not new for the sensational gang-rape case in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills. From the names of the accused and the alleged delay in the investigation, the case saw several twists already. Since the case popped up, the Telangana wing of the BJP and its leaders have been in the news.
Mainly, BJP MLA Raghunandan Rao has been alleging that children from influential families might be behind this and the investigation officers are trying to save the accused. After the cops gave a clean chit to a few accused, the MLA leaked the pictures and videos of the accused and he said that the officers will get more information with this evidence.
But the case turned out unexpectedly and the cops slapped the MLA with a case on the grounds of revealing the identity of the victim. A case was filed by the cops under section 228-A of the Indian Penal Code which says that the identity of the victim cannot be revealed.
When the case was filed against him, everyone thought that he would say that he leaked the pictures without knowing. As a surprise, he said that he revealed the pictures to prove that kids from big families are involved in this. He also said that he is not fearing the case and the police can arrest him if they think he did anything wrong.
Raghunandan Rao is a lawyer by profession and he won many cases as a lawyer. He even defended, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi in a case. So he knows the sections and the guidelines that come with the sections. The BJP MLA doesn’t ned any lawyer and he can fight the case by himself.
On the other hand, sometimes the court considers the reasons and situations behind doing something. When the court hears the case, this might come in handy.
Talking about the case, the alleged rape case was brought to light earlier last week. It is said that the case happened earlier. A few school students and their friends gathered together for a party. The accused befriended the victim at the party and said that they will drop her. But they took her to another place and reportedly raped her in turns.
