Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film, “Jawan,” has continued to dominate the box office, achieving remarkable weekend numbers that have shattered existing records in Indian cinema history. In just four days, “Jawan” has amassed a staggering Rs 500 crores in gross earnings, setting its sights on surpassing the Hindi numbers of “Baahubali 2” to claim the top spot.
While both “Pathaan” and “Gadar 2” have crossed the net earnings of “Baahubali 2” in India, in terms of gross earnings, “Baahubali 2” still holds the number one position in the Hindi film industry, boasting a gross of over 725 crores, with “Pathaan” trailing closely at number two with approximately 640 crores.
It’s worth noting that during the time of “Baahubali 2,” Bollywood movies faced higher taxes, leading to a significant disparity in net earnings. Despite their impressive net figures, both “Pathaan” and “Gadar 2” have failed to break “Baahubali 2’s” gross earnings record.
“Jawan” now aims to achieve this feat, having already collected 252 crores net in Hindi in just four days, with early estimates suggesting an additional 30 crores. To surpass “Baahubali 2’s” gross earnings, “Jawan” needs to amass close to 600 crores net, leaving fans eagerly awaiting whether it will manage to claim the top position or if “Baahubali 2” will maintain its reign.
Directed by Atlee, “Jawan” featured Shah Rukh Khan in dual roles, portraying both an intelligence officer and a thief and vigilante. with the music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
