Senior politician, former minister, Dalit face in Telangana politics and a man with firm rural base, Motkupalli Narsimloo appears to have hit a road block. Though he has changed party after party, his fate remains unchanged. His politics has come back to square one.
He is currently in the ruling TRS. He left the BJP to join the TRS amid fanfare. It was touted that he would be made the chairperson of the proposed Dalit Bandhu corporation. However, that did not happen. Also, his stock in the TRS has gone up after he failed to woo the Dalit voters in the Huzurabad bypolls. As of now, he is yet to be rewarded by the TRS.
In fact, Motkupalli has earlier left the TDP for the BJP in the hope that he would get the governor’s post. Though he joined the BJP, the party did not reward him. Disenchanted by the BJP, he left the party and joined the ruling TRS ahead of the Huzurabad bypoll. KCR has showcased him as a possible chairperson of the Dalit Bandhu corporation. But, that has not happened.
There would be three Rajya Sabha vacancies in Telangana. The tenure of Capt. Lakshmikantha Rao, D Srinivas will expire. Another Rajya Sabha MP Banda Prakash has become an MLC and resigned from the Rajya Sabha post. So, Motkupalli was hoping that he would get a Rajya Sabha seat on the TRS ticket. However, as of now, there is nothing that indicates that KCR is willing to oblige. So, what next for Motkupalli?
